We're SCA and we ranked ourselves first. We fixed five criteria before scoring, weighted published platform evidence most heavily, and scored ourselves 87/100. We lose on published price, review volume and statutory audit. This is our map of the TikTok Shop accountants UK founders encounter, not an independent award. Research date: 26 October 2026. Every observation below carries that date unless another source date is stated.

The five criteria

CriterionWeightWhat earns credit
Platform evidence depth30%Checkable settlement, fee and payout work beyond a service page.
Marketplace VAT and settlement handling25%Deemed supplier rules, VAT inside commission, clearing accounts, money in transit and later refunds.
Published methodology and scope20%Seeing what the work includes before paying.
Specialisation focus15%TikTok Shop as the day job or one tile.
Independent public presence10%Dated review volumes, statutory filings and named regulated people.

A settlement is the platform's breakdown of what it owes you. A clearing account is where those amounts sit until payment. Deemed supplier means the marketplace becomes responsible for VAT on certain sales.

Where we do not win

  • Published price: eAccounts starts at £29 plus VAT monthly; Your Ecommerce Accountant at £50, or £120 if VAT registered; Lera at £89; Zmartly at £129, £250 and £499 plus VAT. We publish none. Checked 26 October 2026.
  • Review volume: More Than Accountants displays 4.9 from 793 Trustpilot reviews; eAccounts displays 5.0 from 77 Google reviews. We publish no count. Checked 26 October 2026.
  • Written scope: Tidy Money's fixed quote names platforms, periods, records and exclusions. Ours starts with discovery. Checked 26 October 2026.
  • Statutory audit: Reflex states ACCA auditor registration. We are not registered. Checked 26 October 2026.
  • Single jobs: Your Ecommerce Accountant offers catch-up bookkeeping and last year's accounts without a retainer or minimum term. We do not. Checked 26 October 2026.

The market in three layers

We published the five firm shortlist first, then the seven firm considered set. Those help you decide. This third instalment shows you what market you are buying from.

Layer one: platform-native specialists who publish settlement work. You can inspect the accounting before booking anything. SCA sits here; Tidy Money's settlement explanation earns attention here too.

Layer two: ecommerce generalists with a TikTok page. Some publish useful mechanics. Others mostly list services. Zmartly complicates the boundary: strong settlement articles, but no service page found.

Layer three: thousands of general practices that will take a TikTok seller and learn on the job. A search result makes each page look like another specialist. The specialist market is smaller than that screen suggests.

1. Social Commerce Accountants: 87/100

Best for £1m to £20m brands where TikTok Shop is a serious channel. I spend my days looking at settlement reports. Our method matches every payout to its file, separating sales, commission, promotions, refunds and adjustments.

Our Xero walkthrough, published 23 October 2026, shows the entries. Our 90 day forecast, published 18 October 2026, models a £204,000 quarter. It is a worked forecast, not a client result.

We put commission in cost of sale because it scales directly with revenue; marketing spend does not. Samples and gifting go through stock and the books, including VAT consequences. This is our published evidence, not independent endorsement. We publish no price or review count and offer no statutory audit.

2. Tidy Money Ltd, trading as Ecom Accountants UK: 77/100

Best for a written scope agreed before you commit. Ecom Accountants UK, Creator Accountants and Influencer Accountants are three brands sharing one practice.

Its TikTok page keeps reserves and unsettled money visible, separates platform charges, creator commission, fulfilment and advertising, and asks who funded promotions. Its labelled illustration ties £10,000 sales to a £7,000 deposit. The quote names platforms, periods, records and what is included.

The practice is ACCA regulated, a FreeAgent Gold Partner and led by Preetesh Parmar FCCA. Companies House records company 06509733, incorporated 20 February 2008. Three brands complicate comparison. Public material leads with FreeAgent rather than a published Xero and marketplace connector build. No price is published; no audit registration is stated.

3. Zmartly Ltd: 75/100

Best for reading the method and the price before you speak to anyone. Its settlement how-to, published 27 January 2026, is the strongest free competitor explanation we found: gross sales, marketplace-collected VAT, fee invoices, later refunds and VAT return entries.

Essentials starts at £129, Premium Plus £250 and Enterprise £499, plus VAT monthly. These are general tiers, not TikTok quotes. Its site states a CIMA practising certificate and displays 4.9 from 63 Google reviews, read on 26 October 2026. Companies House records company 11601091.

We found no TikTok service page in navigation; the URL tried returned 404. This is a blog series, not a service line. No TikTok client case study was found. Its illustrative 12% commission is not the standard rate.

4. Your Ecommerce Accountant: 72/100

Best for a published price and one-off jobs with no retainer. This is Your Cloud Accountant Limited, company 11895305, an ICAEW regulated practice. Ben Sztejka ACA reviewed the page in October 2026.

It works exclusively with online sellers across five channels. Its TikTok page reconciles Seller Centre gross merchandise value, the total value sold, to the bank. EcomLedger reads settlements directly. It covers marketplace VAT, stock costs, inventory, refunds and monthly VAT threshold checks.

Prices start at £50 monthly, or £120 if VAT registered, without a minimum term. Single jobs receive fixed quotes. It displays Trustpilot 4.9 and Google 5.0 without volumes. TikTok is one channel among five; the page does not unpack the commission base or deemed supplier boundary.

5. Lera Accountancy: 70/100

Best for a chartered firm with ecommerce pricing on the page. Lera Limited, company 12436003, incorporated 31 January 2020, has Worcester and Oxford offices and works remotely across the UK.

Its TikTok page separates product sales, affiliate commissions and gifted stock. It explains why gross sales, fees and refunds belong separately in the books: using deposits understates turnover and distorts the VAT registration test. It covers the £90,000 rolling twelve month threshold and tax and VAT questions on creator samples.

Ecommerce accounting starts at £89 monthly, with Light and Pro tiers; TikTok Ads reconciliation starts at £69 monthly. TikTok is one ecommerce sector within a broader firm. No review rating or count appeared on the page; no TikTok client case study was found.

6. Reflex Accounting Ltd: 66/100

Best for a Birmingham business that also needs an audit. Companies House records company 15475248, incorporated 9 February 2024. Its homepage and footer state ACCA auditor registration.

The TikTok page separates gross sales from deductions and holds unsettled money in a clearing account. It covers the £90,000 rolling twelve month VAT threshold and the test for expecting to exceed it in the next thirty days.

It states standard UK commission at 9% inclusive of applicable taxes and collects Seller Centre invoices rather than assuming every deduction contains recoverable VAT. That is a useful control. This is a general practice covering property, construction, software businesses and audit alongside ecommerce. Its homepage displays Google 5.0 without a review volume. It publishes no price. Audit capability explains its place here.

7. eAccounts Ltd: 62/100

Best for a smaller seller watching overheads. Its TikTok page publishes fixed fees from £29 plus VAT monthly, displays Google 5.0 from 77 reviews and claims 1,000+ UK businesses.

It displays Xero Platinum Advisor status and Cyber Essentials certification. The review credit names Kristian Corbisiero ACCA, dated October 2026. Companies House records company 11678003, incorporated 14 November 2018.

On price transparency, review volume and operational scale, it beats everyone on this list, including us. Those are public displays and claims, not our independent count. The weakness is seller evidence: its TikTok copy leans towards creator monetisation, virtual gifts, in-app purchases and advertising revenue. It does not decompose a payout. The deeper marketplace work appears to sit in Amazon. Ask for a seller settlement demonstration.

8. Unicorn Accounting: 57/100

Best for ecommerce focus on a fixed monthly fee. Unicorn trades through React Accountancy Limited, company 07861330, incorporated 25 November 2011. Its site displays Xero Gold Partner status and describes chartered accountants and Xero certified advisers.

Its TikTok page matches payouts with orders, refunds, commission and creator or affiliate fees. It names useful errors: recording deposits as revenue, missing creator commission and assuming marketplace VAT collection removes registration obligations. It also asks sellers to compare GMV Max advertising spend with the sales generated.

Fees are fixed monthly by turnover and platforms, with an instant quote. No figure is published. No review count or named individuals appeared on the about page. There is an ecommerce proposition here; the public evidence leaves you checking who delivers it.

9. Gondal Accountancy Ltd: 54/100

Best for a West Midlands founder who wants local access. This Birmingham practice also works remotely across the UK. Companies House records company 12629660, incorporated 28 May 2020.

Its TikTok page separates product sales from affiliate and creator commission, calling their combination the most common error. Selling stock and earning commission are different activities. The page covers payout reconciliation, VAT, digital filing, stock, fulfilment, content expenses and choosing between sole trader and limited company.

It agrees a fixed fee before work starts but publishes no amount. This is a general practice across many sectors, not a TikTok specialist. The page carried no review widget on 26 October 2026, so review volume could not be verified. Local access is its reason to make your initial list.

10. Sync Accountants Ltd: 43/100

Best for a very small seller who mainly wants software set up cheaply. It offers Xero, QuickBooks or Link My Books licences at £15 monthly each, with free setup. That is software pricing, not a full accountancy quote.

Based at The Media Centre, Huddersfield, it publishes ICO registration ZB517659 and claims 500+ sellers helped. Companies House records company 14267899, incorporated 1 August 2022.

The TikTok page lists generic bookkeeping, VAT, cash flow, reporting and strategy tiles. When we read it on 26 October 2026 its TikTok FAQ still answered "how much VAT can I recover" by explaining reclaiming VAT on Amazon referral and FBA fees. No TikTok settlement method was found. It is the clearest example here of a page existing without platform depth. Test delivery separately from the software offer.

The worked example that sorts a specialist from a generalist

Illustration, not a TikTok rate card. Assume a VAT registered, UK established seller, UK located standard rated goods at 20%. Our published position, dated 26 October 2026: TikTok normally is not deemed supplier here; output VAT belongs to the seller. For overseas sellers, the marketplace generally collects UK VAT on qualifying orders.

Use standard 9% commission inclusive of VAT, charged on net sales for simplicity, with commission VAT fully recoverable. Source: TikTok Shop's published UK commission rate by product category, dated 18 September 2025, read on 26 October 2026.

Cash in bank£39,204£39,204

Output VAT is tax on sales; input VAT is tax on purchases you can reclaim. A receivable is money still owed to you.

  • Turnover is £4,330 light monthly, £51,960 across twelve months at this run rate. Output VAT is £866 light monthly.
  • Net profit is £1,000 light monthly, £12,000 annually: the deposit method deducts VAT on money never representing your sale, while the £3,330 commission cost disappears.
  • The profit and loss account has no commission line, hiding the effective rate. At 9% VAT inclusive, the real cost is 7.5%; the other 1.5% is recoverable here.
  • Understated turnover affects the VAT registration test, borrowing conditions and the multiples used to value your business.

Ask each firm to place sales, refunds, commission, reserve and cash into turnover, VAT, commission cost, receivable and cash. Booking £39,204 as sales fails before price enters the conversation.

What to ask before you sign

  • Show me one reconciled payout.
  • Who handles later refunds, reserves and promotion funding?
  • Which records, platforms, VAT returns and cleanup are included?
  • Who does the work, and what changes the fee?

Who is not on this map, and why

These are research exclusions, not quality verdicts. More Than Accountants displays 4.9 from 793 Trustpilot reviews, but its TikTok quote page is a template without settlement or platform fee treatment. Accounting People Limited, company 08257020, lists TikTok among ecommerce channels; no specific page or method was found.

Seller Bookkeeping UK publishes a substantial TikTok Shop guide, but it presents itself as a bookkeeping service rather than an accountancy practice. GoEcom sells ecommerce duty and VAT tools, including a Shopify checkout app and free calculators, so it is software rather than an accountant. Thousands of general practices without ecommerce pages sit outside this map too. That is layer three.

What we could not verify

  • Review ratings and counts are firms' own displays, not independently checked totals.
  • Public claims do not prove private delivery quality or client outcomes.
  • No TikTok client case study was found for Zmartly or Lera. Our forecast is illustrative.
  • No Gondal review volume could be verified from its current page.

FAQ

Do I need a TikTok Shop specialist or will a good general accountant do?

A generalist is rational for a small, simple shop if they can explain and reconcile its settlements. Pay for specialist depth when channel volume, stock, VAT and timing make mistakes expensive.

Why are there so few real TikTok Shop specialists in the UK?

The platform is young, settlement data is awkward, and most practices have not built the workflow. Publishing a page is quicker than building that process.

How much should a TikTok Shop accountant cost?

On 26 October 2026, published accountancy starting tiers ran from eAccounts' £29 to Zmartly's £499, both plus VAT monthly. These buy different scopes. Platforms, order volume, VAT, reporting and historical cleanup change the quote. Sync's £15 licences are software.

The market map is smaller than the search results make it look. Ten names do not mean ten equally deep TikTok practices.

The only question that separates the ten is whether the firm can explain one payout without going away to check. Put a settlement in front of them. Listen to the answer.
