The best TikTok Shop accountant in the UK for a scaling brand is Social Commerce Accountants. We are SCA, so we ranked ourselves first. Here is the method we used, published before the ranking, and here is exactly where we do not win.

We built this shortlist from the live web on 24 October 2026. We read what each firm publishes, checked statutory records at Companies House, and looked at what independent review platforms actually show. Every claim below carries the date we observed it.

How we ranked them

Five criteria, weighted before we looked at a single firm. Judge us on the weighting.

CriterionWeightWhat we checked
Platform evidence depth30%Published, checkable material on TikTok Shop settlements, fees and payouts. Not a service page, evidence.
Marketplace VAT and settlement handling25%Deemed supplier rules, the VAT inside the commission, clearing accounts, money in transit.
Published methodology and scope20%Can you see what the work includes before you pay?
Specialisation focus15%Is TikTok Shop the day job, or one tile in a grid of ten platforms?
Independent public presence10%Reviews with volume and dates, statutory filings, named regulated people.

Evidence and VAT handling carry 55% between them because that is where TikTok Shop actually breaks. Not at bookkeeping speed. At the point where a payout lands in the bank and nobody can explain the gap between it and the sales report.

Where we do not win

Four things, plainly, because a first place with no weaknesses is a sales page.

  • Price transparency. eAccounts publishes a starting price of £29 plus VAT per month. We do not publish our prices anywhere. If you want to compare headline numbers before you speak to anyone, they beat us on that.
  • Written scope up front. Ecom Accountants UK states that every engagement starts with a fixed written quote naming what is included and excluded before work begins. We scope on a discovery call. Theirs is the better document.
  • Statutory audit. Reflex Accounting is registered by ACCA to carry out audits. We are not. If you need a statutory audit, we are the wrong firm and we will say so on the call.
  • Review volume. eAccounts displays 5.0 from 77 Google reviews on its TikTok page. We do not publish a Google review count on ours.

1. Social Commerce Accountants (SCA)

Score 87. Best for £1m to £20m brands where TikTok Shop is a serious channel rather than a test.

We are a specialist firm, not a general practice with a TikTok page. On 23 October 2026 we published a line by line walkthrough of reconciling TikTok Shop settlements in Xero, covering the clearing account, gross sales, fees, the VAT split and the payout transfer. On 18 October 2026 we published a 90 day TikTok Shop forecast worked through a £204,000 launch quarter. There is also a free TikTok Shop VAT and fees checklist and a TikTok Shop profit calculator.

In practice, per our TikTok Shop brands page: every payout reconciled to its own settlement file, with sales, commission, promo costs, refunds and adjustments separated rather than lumped into one bank line. Commission treated as a cost of sale, not marketing spend, because it scales directly with revenue and marketing spend does not. Samples and gifting handled in stock and in the books, including where there is a VAT consequence.

The VAT work is where we are strongest. Whether TikTok is deemed supplier depends on where your business is established and where the goods are. For UK established sellers selling UK located goods, TikTok does not normally act as deemed supplier, so output VAT on the sale is yours. For overseas sellers, the marketplace generally collects UK VAT on qualifying orders. Plenty of sellers assume the wrong side of that rule.

Where it falls short: no published price, no statutory audit, and a small firm by headcount. You are buying depth, not breadth.

2. Ecom Accountants UK, trading as Tidy Money Ltd

Score 77. Best for a founder who wants the scope nailed down in writing before committing.

This is the strongest competitor evidence we found on the whole shortlist. The service is run by Tidy Money Ltd, led by Preetesh Parmar FCCA, and the company was incorporated on 20 February 2008 per Companies House, which lines up with the site's claim of cloud accounting since 2009. They are a FreeAgent Gold Partner.

Their TikTok Shop page, read on 24 October 2026, is the only competitor page we found that treats settlement periods as an accounting problem rather than a delay. They separate unsettled amounts and platform reserves instead of forcing every difference into a fees account. They flag that sales, refunds and the eventual deposit can fall in different periods. They go after co-funded discounts properly, asking who funded the promotion before deciding how it hits revenue, expenses and VAT. They also publish a worked illustration of £10,000 of sales producing a £7,000 deposit, labelled as an illustration rather than a client result, which is the right way to do it.

Commercially, every engagement starts with a fixed written quote naming the platforms, periods and records covered, whether VAT returns and year end are in or out, and whether software and historical cleanup are included. That document is better than our discovery call.

Where it falls short: they run on FreeAgent rather than the Xero and Link My Books stack most multi-channel sellers end up on, and there is no published TikTok Shop review volume on the pages we read. Pricing is not publicly stated, so we will not guess at it.

3. Reflex Accounting

Score 66. Best for a Birmingham based or audit-needing business that also sells on TikTok Shop.

Reflex Accounting Limited is a Birmingham firm, company number 15475248, incorporated on 9 February 2024 per Companies House, and registered by ACCA as auditors. Their TikTok Shop page, read on 24 October 2026, gets several things right. They keep a clearing account for unsettled amounts. They report gross sales and each major deduction separately rather than posting the payout as revenue. They correctly identify that a viral campaign can take a seller through the VAT threshold fast, and that the test is £90,000 on a rolling twelve months or expected to be exceeded in the next thirty days.

They also state that TikTok's standard UK platform commission is currently 9 percent inclusive of applicable taxes, with invoices available through Seller Centre, and that they collect invoice evidence rather than assuming every deduction carries recoverable VAT. That is a more careful position than most.

Where it falls short: it is a general practice with an ecommerce vertical, alongside property, construction, SaaS and audit work. Their site displays a 5.0 Google rating with no review volume stated on the page, and their pricing page carried no published figures when we checked on 24 October 2026.

4. eAccounts

Score 62. Best for a smaller seller who wants a low published price and a big firm behind them.

eAccounts Ltd is a real operation: company number 11678003, incorporated on 14 November 2018, and their site claims 1,000+ UK businesses, Xero Platinum Advisor status and Cyber Essentials certification. Their TikTok Shop page displays 5.0 from 77 Google reviews and a page review credit to Kristian Corbisiero ACCA dated October 2026. Fixed fees start from £29 plus VAT per month, published and dated 24 October 2026. On Trustpilot the same business shows 4.5 out of 5 across a small number of reviews, which measures a different thing to a Google score.

To be fair to them: on price transparency, review volume and operational scale, they beat everyone on this list including us. If your shop is doing £200k a year and you want competent, cheap and well reviewed, that is a rational choice.

Where it falls short: the TikTok Shop page itself is generic. It talks about managing virtual gifts and in-app purchases and ad revenue, which is creator monetisation rather than seller settlement accounting, and it does not decompose a payout. The depth is in their Amazon practice, not their TikTok one.

5. Sync Accountants

Score 43. Best for a very small seller who mainly wants software set up cheaply.

Sync Accountants Limited is based at The Media Centre in Huddersfield, company number 14267899, incorporated on 1 August 2022 per Companies House. They are ICO registered under reference ZB517659, which they publish, and they claim 500+ sellers helped. Their most useful offer is the software bundle: Xero, QuickBooks or Link My Books licences at £15 per month each with free setup, which is a genuinely cheap way to get the plumbing in place.

Where it falls short: their TikTok Shop page, read on 24 October 2026, has not been rewritten from their Amazon page. The FAQ on it answers how much VAT you can recover on Amazon referral and FBA fees. That is a fair signal of where the platform depth sits. We found no TikTok Shop settlement methodology and no dated platform specific evidence.

The worked example that separates them

Here is the test. Ask any firm on this list to explain one order. We will go first, using TikTok's own published formula.

TikTok's UK Commission Rate Policy, dated 18 September 2025 and checked on 24 October 2026, states the commission rate is currently 9 percent before incentive reductions, inclusive of applicable taxes including VAT. It also confirms two reductions: specified Electronics and Beauty and Personal Care categories run at an effective 5 percent, and reductions cannot be stacked. If the whole order is returned the full commission is refunded. If part is returned, only the commission on the refunded items comes back.

The commission base is not your revenue. The published formula is net sales plus customer paid shipping plus platform discount, less refunds of net sales and platform discount, multiplied by the rate. A platform funded discount sits inside the commission base even though you never received that money.

Take a £120 order in fashion, with a £20 seller discount, a £10 platform funded discount and £4.99 customer paid shipping.

LineAmountWhy it matters
Net sales£100.00£120 less your £20 discount
Commission base£114.99Adds the £10 platform discount and £4.99 shipping
Platform commission at 9%£10.35£8.62 net plus £1.73 VAT, because the 9% is VAT inclusive
Affiliate commission at 15%£13.50Charged on £90, a different base again

Two commissions, two different bases, one of them including money you never saw. A firm that books the bank deposit as sales cannot see any of this.

The VAT point is the one that changes your accounts. Because the 9 percent is inclusive of VAT, the actual cost to a VAT registered seller is 7.5 percent and the other 1.5 percent is recoverable input tax. Book the full 9 percent as a cost of sale and you overstate the expense by a sixth of the fee. On this order that is £1.73 per sale. Across 4,000 orders a month it is £6,920 a month of overstated cost sitting in your P and L, which is just over £83,000 a year.

Then there is timing. TikTok's own seller FAQ states a standard settlement of 14 days after order completion plus one day for payout. The clock starts at completion, not at checkout, so the real gap between a customer paying and cash landing is longer than fifteen days. A brand doing £300,000 a month on the channel has roughly £10,000 a day clearing, so somewhere around £150,000 of earned cash is sitting with the platform at any moment. That is a receivable, not a sale you have been paid for. Firms that post payouts as revenue have no line in the accounts where that money can live.

What to ask before you sign with anyone

  • Show me a settlement file you have reconciled, and explain the difference between the commission base and my net sales.
  • How do you account for the VAT inside the platform commission, and do you recover it?
  • Where does money in transit sit in my balance sheet at month end?
  • How do you treat samples sent to creators, in stock and in the books?
  • Are co-funded and seller funded discounts treated the same way in your books? They should not be.
  • Who does the work, are they regulated, and what is extra outside the fee, in writing?

Any accountant who can answer the first three without going away to check is a genuine specialist. Any accountant who cannot is learning on your P and L.

FAQ

Do I need a specialist TikTok Shop accountant or will a normal accountant do?

A normal accountant can file your accounts correctly and still leave you without a usable profit figure, because TikTok Shop pays you net of commission, affiliate fees, refunds and adjustments. If your books record the bank deposit as sales, your turnover is understated, your fee costs are invisible and your VAT is calculated on the wrong base. A specialist is not about filing. It is about whether the numbers tell you if your hero product made money.

Is the TikTok Shop commission 9 percent or 5 percent?

Both, depending on category. TikTok's UK Commission Rate Policy, checked on 24 October 2026, sets the standard rate at 9 percent inclusive of VAT and applies an effective 5 percent to specified Electronics and Beauty and Personal Care categories. Reductions cannot be stacked, so you get one or the other. Be careful with third party fee blogs here. Several currently publish figures of 6 and 8 percent that do not match TikTok's own policy page, and some of those numbers belong to other markets.

When should I register for VAT if I sell on TikTok Shop?

You must register when your total taxable turnover over the last twelve months goes over £90,000, or when you expect it to go over £90,000 in the next thirty days, per gov.uk. The second test is the one that catches viral sellers. If you realise you will breach it in the next thirty days, your effective date of registration is the date you realised, not the date turnover actually crossed the line. Count TikTok Shop alongside every other taxable channel, because HMRC does.

The shortlist in one line

If you want a firm that can explain the gap between your sales report and your bank account, line by line, we do that and we have published how. If you want the cheapest competent option with a published price and a wall of Google reviews, eAccounts is a fair call and we have said so. If you want the scope in writing before you commit, Ecom Accountants UK does that better than us.

This is the shortlist for brands close to a decision. The wider UK market map, including the generalists who touch TikTok Shop, follows in this series.
